^ how is that book?
I am currently SKIMMING through Aaron Copland's What to Listen for in Music, Wings of Thought(a book about Kahlil Gibran) and the Wu-Tang Manual...again.
I seem to a problem with reading books.
I'll read the first 20-30 pages and for some reason I can't read anymore.
I'm surprised I've read as many books as I have.

The last book i read was from Bob Woodward from the washington post called "The commanders" Its a book about George HW Bush's term in office. There are two parts the first part goes in to great detail about whether or not to invaded Panama to bring down the drug lord Noriega. The second part has to do with invading Iraq to prevent Iraq from invading Kawait. The books goes in to detail about political figures such as Colin Powellel and Dick Cheney and the conversations politicians and other government officials had before deciding to invade Iraq. It illuminates the current quagmire of Iraq by giving new insight.

'Life A User's Manual' by Perec. As with all his other writing, a truly creative work. If you want to read an imaginative, sprawling narrative about the tenants of an apartment block which took nine years to write, check it out. One of the best novels of the 20th C. The small sub-plots are perfectly written, slowly revealing the events of the lives of each person to inhabit the building. It literally has it all, proved by the 20 page appendix at the end, documenting all the references to places and people from history.

I just finished reading a books from Donald Goines; Black Gangster, Dopefiend, Daddy Cool, Street Players, Whoreson, Eldorado Red, Black Girl Lost & Donald Goines Writes no More (biography of the author)
I was put onto this author by a lyricist from the UK I respect who had read these books behind bars...It opened up my eyes to see the ghetto experience defined in such a way on paper. These books are all over 30 years old now but the reality is timeless...
Any writer who really appreciates gut-wrenching reality should check out his works. I'm going to order some more of Goines' work, and another writer I heard about called older writer known as Iceberg Slim who Goines' idolised
