No date set but I just read the promoter announcing "applications" to be the opening act.
Like my ego would ever stoop so low.I'm betting this will end more or less exactly like the last show he was gonna do in Vermont, but I hope not. It did get me wondering though -- where is the canibus website? Seriously.
http://www.google.com/search?q=canibusWhere is it?
Where is the official site with news about his career and
a simple list of upcoming shows? It's 2007 and we're still finding out about his gigs based on rumors on CC?
Who owns this right now?

nothing new raised same like old bisness models, been since 2000 B.C.
just look at canibus.com, Bis didnt even care or see the value of owning it anymore.
doesnt matter I suppose

A good point. You said it really well in that other thread -- if he wants help, he'll ask. I was thinking out loud and probably shouldn't have been, not my business, not my career, not my life.

reminds me of fight club, Tyler Durden goin to different cities, moving in and out of the crowds freely.
nah Wombat, its valid fan banter. BUT Bis knows and if hes apathetic makes it difficult for me to give two shits.

bis should do a show in nyc. i bet some of you have seen the thread.
it is crazy though all his shows or appearances arent posted anywhere. the day fwtbt came out its posted out of nowhere that hes in long island at some record shop signing autographs. me, being the pessimist that i am, didnt go thinking it was bs. sure enough i come home later that night and see people with pics of them and him at this shop. silly me cries myself to sleep that night thinking to myself that in this day and age a website of whos goings and whats doings isnt that much of an expense to keep updated. but oh well. thats who bis is. just wish he wasnt.

yea this is basically what i was conveying in the business models thread, just maybe i took it in too many directions in order to look for feedback. i'd like to see a greater web presence... doesnt even have to be fancy or promotional, really.
Louis Lombard currently owns canibusonline.com, i looked it up just a few days ago. along with poetlaureateinfinity.com if memory serves me. I was thinking about making a formal offer to purchase the PLoo one if nothing was going to be done with it...
Lou from what I have gathered, is really a big part of the problem. Canibus did say in the ressurection thread that he was taking legal action against Lou but abandoned that due to the expenses. His assistant on myspace in an email a couple months ago hinted at some troubles with lou, and some wider problems it caused for both the fans and the artist.
thats part of what got me thinking about new management and new directions to take his business. Im interested to know what Canibus will do next now that he is "free" from the Lou problems. I'm pretty sure that micclub.net was intended to be the official web site for canibus... and if his lyrics were an indicator he may have even planned to sell downloadable songs for a dollar a clip.
I think when his new direction in management fleshes itself out, he'll probably have a web site of some sort. probably a new manager too. Personally I hope he reaches out to Nas' new label if thats a realistic option... i think that would settle most of the promotional and communications problems and would give the fans something new to talk about

Its hard to figure out why Bis doesn't do simple things like have an official website etc. I think that Canibus is content with the way things are, if he wasn't wouldn't he change? Maybe he makes enough money to justify keeping things the way they are. Maybe he makes enough money to live comfortably and doesn't feel the need to go out of his way to put effort into websites and promotion and that way he can focus 100% on the rhymes.

aight will be last cc check and post till i get back from beauty, so excuse me if I dont get back to a response:
Yes, it was in fact the Canibus plan to sell $1 tracks but someone(who shall remain nameless) advised Bis of the obvious. One person pays then the spider web d/l spreads. Plausible and obvious and likely. Thats where the My Name is Nobody/Brainstream mixtapes come from.
Abandon legal action due to expense. I think its more the fact whatever is difficult to prove. You can always find a lawyer willing to work a case and only get paid if they win the case. You can always work out the expenses, like client gets X% and lawyer gets Y%. Sometimes the wrinkles can be too much, better to cut ur loses. Maybe we all have something in out lives like this. Dont know specifics though.
Putting the word NEW behind manager doesnt denote anything to me. Management, labels, communication; these are all irrelevant, just fluff for the fans. But you said it, gives the fans something to talk about. But how does that truthfully help?
side note: Kenny, you say u want a Bis show in NYC, have you contacted K SOLO? Have you contacted/gone to a club and ask them? Stop sitting on ur hands and actually TRY to make it happen. U might be surprised to C Capital C live.
idk men, i got love for the movement, but as yall quoted and I shall say again, if Canibus wants help he will ask.

i should have never used the term "help" i've eaten those words three times now. should have used the word "constructive"

constructive help?
well, foremost we are Bis fans. BUT will say, it is easy to assign blame entirely on Lou without looking at the obvious. Sure Lou owns those sites, but CAN I BUS did not even want CANIBUS.COM, so there u go.
actually after leaving UMG, he did own canibus.com, and released music online. i'm not sure how he lost control of the domain.. do you? how do u know he still doesn't want canibus.com? maybe for awhile he was content with micclub.net and just didnt need canibus.com
here is a excerpt from rapreviews.com when CTHS came out.
QUOTE
Although his last album "2000 B.C." was well respected among underground rap fans, he and Universal Records agreed to a parting of ways after poor record sales. He kept his domain name though and cleverly used www.Canibus.com to feature new unreleased singles on an MP3.com homepage.
when CTHS and Lou came into the picture i think the management of his online presence was taken over by Lou, who fumbled it pretty badly.. especially when so many micclub.net online purchases were lost.
now that Lou is gone, and the websites are down.. its valid to ask Whats Next as far as the websites go.
on a side note.. i think it IS fair to lay a majority of blame on Lou because when running an enterprise you should be able to delegate responsibility and trust they will execute their responsibilities in an acceptable way. I would only lay blame on Bis for hiring the wrong man for the job. i run a house flipping business and if i had to micromanage every action of the people i hire, even after they are made aware of their job, i would not be able to accomplish my own responsibilities... so when a dumbass comes around and i realize he cant do what he claims, i replace him without remorse as fast as i can.

Just because I love entertainment and still believe in the man.
If your talking about releasing music on Canibus.com and the mp3.com Gladiator page, that went down pretty quick. As far as rapreviews, "cleverly", haha laughable in my opinion, Canibus.com was never utilized any way u try to dice it. Remember when it was re-directed to Universal? Even when Bis had ownership and was off Uni. CTHS happened in 01 or was it before?, it took mid 07 for Bis to part ways with Lou. This is after numerous ppl complaining and numerous order "mishaps." Canibitch said Case Study aint highspeed well if Bis is, damn, its obvious by now to everyone that CC is on his radar. Day 1 the grateful rippers could see Lout was not a wise move.
Did Lou really have Bis on strings? Canibus is 30+ yrs old man. Responsibility is still on his cold old asshole shoulders. In my opinion, he could even agree to this, maybe with a fuck u case study at the end of it. Enterprise, come on man. Thats cool that u flip houses, very profitable if done correctly. But Bis aint an enterprise. We are not talking about major actions that should take place. Many things take seconds to do. Many things done with little effort.
One word sticks out, content. Canibus has to have it, dont think fans have it for him.
But soon enough, lets move passed the past. And where are we? Canibus doesnt want help, so it might as well be useless to debate. Or no?

..either. I just gave an anecdote that relates from my perspective.. we agree that he should have fired his manager long ago. I would have. but his manager owned his websites.. oh well cc.com fills the void.

Interesting thread some really good and interesting posts in here. Ive actually reached out to Bis, K-Solo and the guy who runs Bis' myspace to let them know Im down to help get something official up for Bis and Waste Management. They replied back to me a few months ago and seemed like they were interested and would hit me up within a month or so, few months have passed and have not heard from any of them. The Waste Management site they got now is out of date to say the least. It seems like they are more focused on doing these shows and making tracks, they could of hit me up and I would of handled the web business side of the stuff and they know I'm not one to fuck them over. Maybe they will reach out to someone to get started on that as it is a big part of promo, the internet is so huge now it is probably the largest source for promotion these days. I hope their doing something about this weather it is to have an official Canibus site or a new and updated look to Waste Management would be nice to see.

just constant negativity. and the passive/aggressive approach.
it doesnt warrant a debate but i wont be talked down on and then second guess whether i should speak at all.
