it's very cool
but that's definitely not something "Bouncing off the sun" if it were actually near the sun that object would be larger than any planet in our system
remember how big the sun is
in fact, pretty much 90% of CZ needs to read these links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_systemtakes 20 minutes and you'll stop being a retard for the rest of your life
actually wombat i've been thinking about this for a few days now...and that object was surely massive, but it realy need not be larger than anything in our solar system... from my estimates it doesnt even need to be larger than any of the rocky planets ....the sun is big but only about 10 times as large as jupiter...so if it were larger than jupiter it would have looked alot larger in comparison to the sun (without taking into account how much of it would have been ablated by solar radiation). and even these size estimates by me are assuming that most of what is seen is even mass and not glowing plasma (giving the impression of mass...i think the most interesting thing is the speed at which its approaching which i can only guess is ...pretty fucking fast ...maybe impossibly fast...but i dont think this can be dismissed out of hand...it looks unlikely and i think the speed is really a factor i'll work on more ..but right now i dont feel this is impossible.
Edit: also there is no reason to believe that whatever it was or wasnt would have been destroyed before it ever hit the sun...stuff hits the sun (well the corona at least...but maybe even the surface)....besides destroyed? ...what does that mean?...do you mean that it would no longer exist? things don't stop existing when they get extremely hot..especially something that massive...this wasn't some little ice ball
