So i got a letter from the economics department today: "Your performance in the core economic course (I.e. Macro) has been very impressive and noted by the Faculty of the Economics department. We understand the hard work that was needed to achieve high performance in these courses and as a result, we would like to extend to you a personal invitation to consider a major in Economics.....Once again, please accept my sincere congratulations on performing well. I look forward to meeting you in person to discuss the possibility of your pursung the economics major."
I got a B+ in the class but i dont have time to pick up another major because I'm already trying to do 3 as it is. Besides i think there just blowing smoke up my ass because they need to fill their qouta.

Are the classes pass/fail then, or is there a grading system?

University classes are graded; fail, 3rd class, lower 2nd class (2:2), upper 2nd class (2:1) and 1st class. Honours that is anyway.
My gf who was at the same uni as me here transferred a load of 2:2 and 2:1 class back to her USA uni and they where transferred as B's and A's. I intially though the 1st would be A, 2:1 a B etc but it doesn't scale like that apparantly.
University class marks over here are more based on the percentage mark though rather than a letter grade.
