What worked for me and a friend of mine to induce lucid dreaming, is to just focus on trying to remember your dreams. Focus on remembering before you go to sleep, then write them down the next morning. Keep that up for a while and it should work.

I've lucid dreamt more than once, but it all came about randomly. I had no control over making it happen, and I wish I could. But good topic... Maybe I'll drop some cool links later when I get time.

Very cool. If you start becoming lucid, you should be careful to remain calm and focus on staying inside your dream. It's very easy to wake up.
With that said, I once controlled a dream where I was in a jurassic park setting!

When I was little I had a lucid nightmare and couldn't wake myself up no matter how hard I tried. So I figured I'd hide and then I went into a door in the floor to get away from the werewolves and when the door started opening I closed my eyes and started saying this is just a dream and when I opened them again it was an old man

Can you even have a lucid nightmare? Just make the werewolves disappear!

I'd shoot fireballs at them and kick them in the balls.
Then turn them into some fine chicks and make sweet love to them.

its weird because at a certain point in my dreams i become aware that i am dreaming, i cant control the setting but i can control my actions, once i finally process that im in the dream im try to stay calm and in tune with it and can usually do whatever, i fly and shit its crazy... i used to just run around the scene that i was in and just run up to chicks and rip their shirt off when i was younger lol, but now its pretty rare that i experience lucid dreaming, every once in a while i'll get it tho.

Necronomicon is a fictional ancient book with sacred knowledge in Lovecraft's Mythos stories.
Not something you should take literally.
