haha of course ill be happy when rtj 2 drops, matter of fact im happy now. I hope my high expectations arent taken as ridicule. As the illest thats something canibus has to except though. Knowing hip hop is in a dire state and he could prolly save it, I cant ignore the huge demand for more and more canibus news/material.
Its like if canibus had just as many mixtapes out as lil wayne do you think wayne would still get all the shine? Bis Is working hard, he does have mad features recently, im not arguing that, i love those tracks. Im just saying after seeing how hard pac went, and dudes like wayne, kayne are going now on the street circuits, I ONLY expect bis to out do them. As the illest I couldnt except anything less.
and yea hes secretive or whatnot but I mean, I think the interview he did earlier this year, the one where he said it was the first interview he has done in like years. Thats what im talkin about when I ask shan to just let us know something. Something more than the always tenative and undetailed release dates. Remember if no one pushed bis maybe he wouldnt have first spit 100 bars. Just recently did bis even start doing interviews, so theres alot of lost time, work, that needs to be maken up. If you think you could just do merely a few interviews in a few months after being gone for years is enough work for a major artist, dont complain when they say lil wayne is the best or hip hop is dead. You have no reason to even complain cuz as one of the illest if you dont play your role within hip hop mathematics what else do you expect to happen.
This nigga cant be worshipped in the industry for those 98-99 freestyle verses forever, at some point you got show them (the streets, the industry, anyone Not on cc everyday which is like 99% of the real world, reality) your not a one trick pony and go heavy again IF you want the credit you deserve. Otherwise dont complain when things dont go your way, at 98-99 you were deserving so allah blessed you making you hottest artist, go gold ect, but now allah hasnt blessed him cuz theres no way you can say hes deserving over some of these artists who yes may be alot less talented than bis, but put in wayyyy more work, getting their name out on the streets, doing interviews, jumping at the chance every moment to just get their voice out there and be heard. Bis raps about falling from grace, should of packed a parachute for the plummet, but what do you expect when you leave and dont constantly go as hard as others in the same game your competing in.
At the end of the day as we all know, you get out of what you put in. So although bis got dozens and dozens of collabo joints out, very few people beyond this site have even heard any of them....And its not like its wack, the verses are nuts, But Nobody is checkin for bis cuz nobody has heard anything from the man himself (interview/info wise) in a long time. One interview every 2 months aint gonna get it done industry wise, and definitely wont satisfy all the canibusmaniacs on this website. Bis audience is way more sophisticated now and Needs to hear from bis, otherwise theyre (canibusmaniacs) are gonna be wildin out....Remember in music, entertainment, image is a huge factor in deciding whats relevant, so if you havent given any interviews in years, what else can you expect. And I wouldnt even be saying anything, but if bis calls himself the best, the illest, it comes with the territory
^ It's OK saying all that but you are forgetting that Bis is a human being with feelings and shit and the events following the LL battle hit him hard. you are forgetting everything that has happened prior to this point which will have altered Bis' mentality.
You are taking the parachute for the plummet bar out of context. He's talking about being blackballed after the LL battle. He went from being sky high to crash bang in an instant and wasn't ready for it.
He made an effort to 'come back' after Can-I-Bus with 2000BC after basically being blackballed but that album was ignored.
He was depressed when he made CTHS, but came back strong after some self evaluation and some 7 days of vipassana type shit which made him an altered beast and resulted in Mic Club and RTJ. but he then decided to join the army to re-evaluate his life and give himself a purpose other than Hip Hop having recorded MC and RTJ.
He then made the effort to come back and was dropping the "freestyles", interviews and shit and was meant to blow up again alongside Shaq but that didn't pan out. he made the Hip Hop for Sale album which was gonna be a commercial release on a big label with Nottz beats, but again that release was prevented due to a fallout and the album being leaked, fucking everything up. In the end it was released with minimal promotion via babygrande. However, it was still good for us fans though cos we got three lps in one day.
after that he has still been inspired to to create music releasing the likes of PLoo and FWTBT's but still had to put up with some label issues with Mic Club.
Is it any wonder that he has lost the urge to make music for the streets, drop mixtapes and do interviews. He has tried but was ignored or prevented from being heard so now he just wants to release it for the people who actually care. He's just happy to get the music out there and doesn't care about the promotional side or anything like that. Anyways, look at Killah Priest. he has been dropping all sorts of mixtapes the past couple of years, but are the streets listening? No, they ain't. The same thing would happen to Bis.
Just be grateful, that after everything he has been through, he is still releasing music for his fans. You need to move away from the obsession that he can blow up again and be loved by the streets again. Those days have passed. Just listen to his music and message. if there was a shift in Hip Hop and Bis was loved again, then I'd be made up, but do people actually care if he is loved by a herd of sheep. just enjoy his music and stop worrying about everything else.
