I always liked the current affairs books that i read. Most recently I just read George Friedmans "The Next 100 Years". Great book by the way. I always like that field of forecasting and I want to get into it, but I don't really wanna waste my time in nonrelevent classes. I kinda narrowed the degree down to poly sci but that's a little to vague for me. I want to find a more detailed degree, but if poly sci is the only way to go then I will take it.
So does anybody have any ideas or any general knowledge on that field? Any advice would be helpful and ill come back to clarify any questions...

I've never heard of it before- but from what I just read up on it, it sounds pretty cool. I would think that some sort of environmental studies and statistic classes would be relevant. Maybe you could do a little research on people who are already in the field and see what sort of degree they hold or what their educational background is.
Also, if you liked The Next 100 Years you may be interested in the book "Future Shock" by Alvin Toffler. I'm not going to lie- the author is very long-winded, but once you get into it the book is pretty fascinating.

Yea I've been doing some research, but it seems that you have to know some people for a good connection. When I went to George Friedman's wiki page, I saw that he had created a school called the Center for Geopolitical Studies at Louisiana State University, but when I tried to find it, it was to no avail. Me and my education rep called Louisiana State REPEATEDLY and all we got was transfers and "we never even heard of it". Maybe wiki's full of shit...who knows!
But yea I think I may just have to go poly sci and just grind through it. I will have plenty of time to do it online, but I kinda wanted a physical school with people that actually have working knowledge on that topic. I'ma still keep a lookout though.
I also just started reading "The Pentagon's New Map" by Thomas Barnett. Seems decent but granted I just started. He doesn't seem like he has a military background so thats good to know. Less red tape is better for getting into that field...
