We've heard Canibus say in interviews ( http://www.blogtalkradio.com/search/canibus/ ) that he is not sure how he will be releasing RTJoo. It is 10,000 bars of interchangeable lyrics, which seems like too much for one CD to handle.

How would you release this project if it were up to you? Would you release it as downloads? Maybe package it with some software? Multiple CD's maybe? Maybe print its lyrics in a book and offer the downloads free? Would you sell it at all? Log your opinions.

just the same way he released PLOO; have him mix it himself, and have an album full of different mixes, release the individual layers online.

I do agree with Dante that using a previously successful formula would be beneficial. However, RTJOO is a different kind of beast and should be handled differently. I see PLOO as being a way to get the infinite concept out there to the public and see what can be done with it. With as many mixes made and listened to by the masses through here and Youtube, it's safe to say the experiment went well. Bis now knows he can sell this in a manner will provide ultimate accessibility to those wanting to mix but also where he can reap the benefits for putting in the work to pen and spit 10,000 bars. For something innovative like an infinite album I think something innovative can be done to distribute it.

I like your idea, dc_, about having a book printed of the lyrics. That would be something any fan of Bis would want to collect. Also a collection of mixes on a CD accompanying the release of the vocals to the public would be another way to wet the appetite of the fans since it would be all new Bis songs.

But in my opinion there does need to be some kind of mixing board software made. I know people such as Metajake had some ideas of their own to innovate the mixing board, so I hope they share there thoughts in this thread. Whats hard to gauge though is the price that should be asked for accessing the software and vocals, etc. Perhaps it could be similar to Spitboss where there is a membership to have access to the mixing board. Surely most of the mixers would be on board for that. But there should also be an option where one can buy whole songs (all layers included) and be able to download them to their PC, since not everyone is going to want to mix or mix timeline with the mixing board. There could be package deals where lets say you want only one track you should pay X amount, or if you want a select few tracks you pay some more money, or if you want the whole 10,000 bars then you pay a substantial amount more. Maybe the membership access to the RTJOO mixing board wouldn't need to require hosting of all 10,000 bars on the server of the site but would have the individual accessing the site has already bought the vocals host the files needed to mix (i.e I bought only a couple tracks and upon firing up the mixing board I would have to select the track I wanted to mix from my hard drive, hypothetically this would free up a ton of space instead of hosting all the bars on the server giving the site a more sure chance not to go down based on over use and more details could be fit in to the site.) I mean even the website with the mixing board doesn't have to follow the same rules as the old mixing board did, where it's strictly timeline chopping. It could have a whole new interface that mimics the likes of Acid Pro or a Protools where it gives the mixers the ability to chop and export any type of mix they want from the site. I can imagine something like this catching on wildly with the public as a whole if its executed with the novice in mind but also has elements that more advanced users can utilize. Also a demo mixing board could be put up on the home page of the site for those not familiar with infinite rhyming or chopping in general can see what all the fun is.

In my opinion, the best strategy would be hitting the consumer from all angles regarding distribution of media i.e. physical copies of mixes, literature, downloadable content, software accessibility. Rip the Jacker II: Infinity is epic in every sense of the word, ergo it shouldn't be pigeonholed to any one kind of release. It has the capability for so much more.

As HRH said it should be released in every way possible. lyric books, online like PLOO, on a massive hard drive, on a site like spitboss, DVD's, DVD-ROM's, mixtapes/CD's. However, this is gonna cost a lot of money with no guarantee it will make a profit.

So, I personally think he should scrap the 10, 000 bar infinite album idea and instead work on a 10 Track infinite album. I'd love to see him create an album in the same mould as RTJ with each track having varying numbers of layers (2-10).

The last track could be Poet Laureate Infinity II, with 100-200 bars x 10 layers. Imagine that shit. But only if it can fit on a DVD alongside the other tracks. I think it is vital that the whole album can fit on one DVD. And there should also be the option to download each track with it's mixing board online. Each board could have it's own design to fit the theme of the track.

Track 10 could be the single, released online like PLOO with another 2-4 layers. I don't think it is necessary to have any more layers than this on that track. This should also have the capability to be embedded onto any site, so people can mix on the main Hip Hop sites as opposed to clicking on a link. A smaller infinite track would be less confusing for regular Bis / Hip Hop fans.

The mixing board itself should be more advanced too, with options to record, render mp3, automatic/random vocal switching. fastforward etc. Quicker vocal switching is a must to enable us to mix on the board like Ferd and Baal mix on Acid. Maybe pressing the numbers on the keyboard/ DVD remote to switch rather than the mouse.

And maybe the vocals could be purchased too for anybody wanting to mix on Acid. But if he does make another epic infinite song like PLOO, then he could just release the vocals to that one, as opposed to every track. PLOO is still going strong after two years. We don't need every vocal to every track to continue making non-linear mixes. Also, the vocals would probably sound slightly different on each track, making it difficult to smoothly mix the songs together.

I'd rather hear a 10 track infinite album full of high quality lyricism and poetry with intricate layers matching each other perfectly, as opposed to a 10, 000 bar and 100 track album which won't feel like an album due to it's structure and almost impossible to release/buy. It would be amazing to get 10000 bars in one go, but he could do 10 infinite albums instead, each fitting on a DVD. I'd defo prefer that. He could release one every few months. That would be alot more exciting in the long term.

You are boasting about getting a 16 complete in 12 hours. Shifting Poles which is 50 Bars took me about 8 hours. But regardless how quickly anyone mixes, you ain't got the stamina to mix four verses in a month for the RTJ tape which is all that matters. There's no point sprinting through ya first mix and being too burnt out to do the rest, which it appears is what happened with you. But obviously this is not the case, it's just cos you are too good to mix with us.

So you won't be mixing on No Return adn PLII either. I'll begin searching for a replacement right away.

I think what ever is cheapest will win out. Bis isn't a dumb guy. I know he doesn't do it for money, but he isn't go to throw it away. I doubt books and things like that. It will probaly only be a ditigal release and maybe something extra for the hardcore.

I would make a website with a mixing board and drop the first 1,000 Bars on there. Every week, once a week after that I would drop another 100 Bars until we reach the ultimate 10,000 Bars . You'll be able to download each layer as written, or you can mix the songs the way you want and then purchase that mix you personally made. You'll be able to hear and purchase other mixes from other mixers there too. I would provide a minimum of 3 beats per layer making it even more infinite.

Once every 2 months an unlayered 1000 Bar CD will be available at a store near you. That's 10 CDs of shear heat. The CD is for the people who don't care about mixing and matching up the lyrics....they just want the rhymes as written. The CD will come with a booklet of all the lyrics.

each track could have 200-300 bars on each one...i think it would be dope cause it would be several handfulls of new canibus tracks

Anyone here who thinks all 10,000 bars is coming out on 1 CD and there will be no NEW style to sell this album which will attempt to mold a future of Hip Hop delivery of music to listener isn't really appreciating what the goals and objectives of this project are. Before you make wild guesses of HOW the music will be put out, maybe you guys should think about WHAT the music is, WHAT its goals are? That will give you a better answer as to possibly what strategies there would be to put out the music, everything else is just fan's being hopeful rather than thinking what the artist wants to do and how.

The whole style is based around MIXING, so the delivery will no doubt have that in mind, just like you've seen SUN do, not even 1 original bar was put out for anyone to hear, we were graced with PLOO, but those who think they will be graced with 10,000 bars fully and can simply "pay" for them I don't feel respect what the music is trying to ignite and how.

People should remember bis has been working on this for years and years and years, 9 hours of music, 9 albums worth, really about $250 ish worth of music, 1 single "album" download doesn't look likely if he's going to make that kinda money, unless he wants $15.99 for it Ha.

As for whats "cheapest", you must think Canibus really thinks the rhymes are worthless, think about beef, you'd pay a few bucks for a cheese burger right? Would you expect to pay the same for a succulent steak sold at a stylish restaurant? Forget about being able to wear the same clothing and take the same company, RTJoo isn't going to be fast food, nor is it going to be for all to simply gain every bar they wish I feel, so you should think about what RTJoo is and then work a structure around that. As fans, its natural to live in hope, but as his poetical masterpiece, I doubt bis wants to be paid like Ferdowsi did with his shahnameh, he's expecting a gold bar for every bar, fuck silver.

However, you are talking about a MIXER who's claiming to be the BEST at ALL aspects of mixing POET LAUREATE INFINITY.

POET LAUREATE INFINITY is 1000 bars of MCing in English.

The art of PLOO is to mix new RHYMES which are in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

So to round off, Oobe is a mixer who quite casually claims to be the best PLOO mixer, PLoo being an art using complex use of the english language to connect to metaphors and other such things. If we have the best PLOO mixer claiming to be such a thing, as a PLOO mixer, I feel offended and cheapened by these wild claims of bullshit, so I shall point out how ludicrous such a claim is, someone who barely grasps the english language disrespects the art and belittles it by making it some stupid game of calling out "I'M BEST" continually like a buffoon without a care about the future and the actual content of what the lyrics are about. THEN, subsequently claims that everyone else does not understand the lyrics and ONLY SHE can understand them, further claiming mastery of the language.

So to make it even shorter so everyone understands, claiming to be the best PLOO mixer is to claim you are a MASTER WIZARD at the english language as well as poetry, also, claiming others lack the ability to understand the lyrics while she does is another claim of mastery of the English language.

Therefore, because of this, with this particular cadet I tend to point out her weaknesses, I wouldn't do that if she put out a mix, but if she's just going to sit there and make bullshit claims and pretend her strengths are her weaknesses, believe me you, I am a very intellectual person and I can point out quite clearly why this person is a pathetic excuse for a human being, and will continue to do so while this being is so hateful to all those within this movement. I personally hope half of RTJoo never gets put out, it'll give more power to the bars whatever mixer mixes!

It'd be really cool if bis could get premo and stoupe and others such as them to create mixes using RTJoo to accompany any form of release. It'd be interesting to see bis open the gates with RTJoo to inspire other MC's to rhyme, maybe RTJoo itself will give manuals on creating the art of infinity, I do hope bis inspires more in that effect, that would mean for sure a world of tomorrow where Hip Hop is loved, I know this much.
